Criollo is the seed that started Cuban tobacco, and Kristoff builds this one around a Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper that has been aged until the bite is gone. What is left is a warm, nutty smoke with cedar underneath and a sweetness that shows up on the finish rather than the first third.
Every Kristoff is finished with a pigtail cap and a closed foot, which means the first quarter inch burns pure wrapper before the blend opens up. It is a small piece of theater, but it also gives the cigar a slow, sweet start.
