Steve Saka's Sobremesa line takes its name from the Spanish habit of lingering at the table long after the plates are cleared. Tapa Negra is the same core blend as the Sobremesa Brûlée, with one deliberate change: a Nicaraguan leaf caps the first inch or so of the cigar before the Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper takes over.

That dark cap does real work. The first third arrives with a firm push of black pepper, then the cigar settles into the creamy, bread-and-butter smoothness Sobremesa is known for. Medium to full, and unhurried — this is not a cigar to smoke on a schedule.

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut shade, with a Nicaraguan cap section
Binder: Mexican Matacapan negro de temporal
Filler: Nicaraguan long-filler
Strength: Medium to full
Sizes: Corona Gorda (5.63" x 48), Toro (6.0" x 52)

Best after dinner with something dark in the glass — a rye, or strong coffee if it's earlier in the day.
